The 224th Division fought alongside Iasento's tribe against Separatist forces, which had invaded the planet to exploit its mineral resources. While in combat on Mimban, the 224th's Mud Jumpers were given a song by a Hologram VJ of the Grand Army of the Republic's broadcast. During the fight, General Tik was killed and the clones were forced to fall back. A detachment of the 224th known as the Mud Jumpers fought on Mimban alongside the 501st Legion, under Jedi General Laan Tik. Another captain served in the division, whose uniform was stolen by Tobias Beckett during his infiltration. Major Staz served in the 224th, as did Captain Alayus Bolandin following his promotion from lieutenant. Reorganized as the 224th Imperial Armored Division, the division fell under the command of General Falk, with their overall operations directed by Moff Bin Essada along with other Imperial resources on Mimban.

The division consisted of clone troopers known as the Mud Jumpers. The 224th Imperial Armored Division was previously designated as the 224th Clone Division and 224th Division while under the Grand Army of the Republic.
